Katelyn & Jayson's Barton Park Wedding

Katelyn + Jayson with their entire Bridal Party at Barton Park
HOW DID YOU MEET? Jayson and I met at the Kulin Bush Races. He was on a footy trip and I had gone to see my best friend. The funny thing is I lived in Kulin 2 years prior to meeting him but had decided to move on (to the other side of the world) as I hadn't found the one thing I was looking for. Love.
THE PROPOSAL The proposal was amazing. He had organised a surprise getaway for my 30th birthday. He booked me in for a massage and when we returned a trail of rose petals lead to the bedroom where I found 'Marry Me?' written on the bed in petals. That night we had a private chef come to where we were staying to cook us a 5 course dinner. It was incredible.

FAVOURITE MOMENT My gorgeous nephews and niece walking down the aisle together holding hands. They looked adorable. During the ceremony my niece kept running between her mum who was a bridesmaid and her dad who was sitting in the front row. It was very cute.
THE VENUE I originally had my heart set on a venue in Manjimup but logistically it was going to be challenging. I came across Barton Park when talking to a friend of a friend. As soon as I saw the pictures I knew it was the place for us. As it turned out my husband has a family connection to the farm and it was only 40 minutes from where we live. It was definitely meant to be!

FAVOURITE DETAILS  The confetti at the ceremony. Our photographer got a beautiful shot of us when we stopped to kiss half way down the aisle. Our dog Patch is in the middle of us. The neon Happily Ever After sign next to the dance floor.

ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES
What were you really glad you did? I had my Mum and Dad walk me down the aisle as they have both played an equally important role in my life. It's a moment I will cherish forever.
Advice for dress shopping? Go in with an open mind. What I ended up with is very different to what I had been looking prior to going shopping and trying on gowns. I'm so glad I chose the dress I did. I felt like a real life princess.
Advice for finding vendors?
Start looking as early as possible to make sure you are able to secure the vendors that are right for you and fit in with your vision for the day.
What kind of music did you have? We had an acoustic artist for the pre reception and a DJ for the reception. We were definitely happy with this decision.

BEST WEDDING SPEND Our videographer. This is something I knew I wanted but it took a bit of convincing for Jayson to be on the same page. I managed to talk him into it and he can now see why I was so insistent on having one. We absolutely love our sneak peek and can not wait to see the full video!
