Anna & Chris's Yallingup Wedding

Anna, I remember your first appointment with me in store like it was yesterday. When you walked out in one of my own gowns, the Claire gown, I was so excited & hoping you would choose it! You made the dress look next level, you looked stunning. Red carpet worthy! I was honored that you purchased one of my wedding dresses & am so happy, that you loved wearing it. I cannot wait for other brides to read your beautiful love story.

Love always Sam Xx

THE DRESS "I had always said I wanted something I could easily move in and most importantly go to the toilet by myself. I had been to two other bridal shops and tried on about 8-10 dresses. Nothing was right. My friend then suggested Samantha Wynne, she had got her dress there and raved about Sam and her shop. The gown I ended up purchasing was exactly what I had been looking for, it was elegant, sexy, relaxed, sophisticated all rolled into one. It was the last dress I tried on at Samantha Wynne. As soon as I walked out of the change room my friend and I knew it was the one."

HOW DID YOU FIRST MEET? "Chris and I met when I was 30 and he was 31. I had been living away from Perth for 5 years and had moved back in the January and met him in the July. I knew it was something from the beginning."

THE PROPOSAL "Chris proposed at the gardens in front of Caves House in Yallingup. It was special spot because our first holiday together we stayed there. We had gone for a walk around the gardens and were headed back to the car, Chris had wanted to find somewhere to sit down, I was not impressed we hadn’t walked that far, and the car was so close. We found a bench to sit and then he got down on one knee in front of me. Chris had always joked that he didn’t believe in marriage, so it was a complete surprise when he did. I think I asked him if he was serious 😊"

THE VENUE "Solitaire Homestead was the first venue we looked at. We had looked at a few others after but did not have the relaxed vibe that we were after.  It allows BYO but has all the things you need for a wedding- speakers, furniture, decorative items."

FAVOURITE DETAILS "The colour pallet of the bridesmaid dresses and flowers worked so well with the rustic vibe of Solitaire Homestead. Just popped in the photos. I went with dried/preserved flowers, they were amazing and will last forever."

ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES "We had been told by people we should have a DJ, Chris and I didn’t want to. We had been to weddings where the DJ played all the wrong songs. We created our own Spotify playlist and it was a big hit. Nothing was lost by not having a DJ. And we saved a lot of money. We did have an acoustic singer for the ceremony and start of the reception and that was money well spent. That created a good atmosphere."
