Suzy & Clancey's North Fremantle Wedding

Suzy & Clancey's North Fremantle Wedding | Samantha Wynne

This is a beautiful love story of Suzy & Clancey. I love getting to know my brides (who really do feel like friends and family) during their journey with us here at Samantha Wynne Bridal.

I remember your appointment in store like it was yesterday, Suzy. The expression on your face when you knew you had found the gown, was priceless.  It was during our trunk show too, which made the time in store even more special. Thank you so much for sharing your most intimate and precious day, to inspire and warm the hearts of other brides to be.

Look forward to seeing you again, if you are ever passing by, please pop in & say Hi!

Love Sam xx

THE DRESS "I was after something quite plain and classic, I didn’t think I really wanted a traditional “wedding dress”. I gave my brief to Samantha and she was spot on with what she produced for me to try on. I think she knew which dress I would end up picking and kept this till last, I would have tried on maybe 5 beforehand. I tried on a few dresses at another venue, but went back to Samantha Wynne. She made me feel incredibly comfortable through the whole process and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I loved the cut of the gown, it was stunning, while quite understated at the same time. I loved the material, it was very comfy and I loved the buttons which ran the whole way down the back and train.

CAN YOU REMEMBER THE MOMENT YOU KNEW IT WAS THE DRESS? "The moment I knew it was the dress, was by seeing the look on everyone’s face when I walked out with it on."

HOW DID YOU FIRST MEET? "Clancey and I met a little over 3 years ago, we met on a typical Saturday night out in Fremantle. Being a bit older we knew what we wanted and both felt this was something serious from the beginning."

THE PROPOSAL "We got engaged while on a holiday in Sydney, Clancey went to a lot of trouble in booking a special restaurant in the Harbour with stunning views of the Bridge and Opera House. I was brought to tears when he dropped to one knee and proposed. It was a very emotional moment and we were so happy!"

FAVOURITE MOMENT "I honestly don’t think I can pick one! It was truly THE best day. I loved every moment."

THE VENUE "It was never a question of the area we wanted to be married in. We have both grown up in Freo, so were after something local. Our ceremony was on the river at Gill Fraser reserve, a special spot for both of us and our families. We knew this was the right place for the ceremony. Our reception was at Coast, Port Beach which was perfect. Once we had a looked at the space and met the people involved, it was an easy decision to make! What they offered could not be beaten and it is the most spectacular spot for a reception, right on the beach. They were very easy to work with and went above and beyond on the night. A special thanks to Ian Hutchinson and his team at Coast. I highly recommend it as a venue."

FAVOURITE DETAILS "The style of the wedding. People kept asking me what was the style/theme of the wedding and I could never answer this, there was not a set style I was after, I just picked things that I liked and thought would look good together. Everything came together so well on the day, it all looked amazing! I LOVED my bridesmaids look, they looked incredible! Also my earrings!!!!! They are spectacular."

ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES "Don’t get too caught up with what you see on Pinterest and Instagram, don’t try and recreate something you see. Just pick things that suit you and what you like. Find a balance between “its’ just a wedding’ and  “it’s our wedding!!!” I think that was a regular conversation between Clancey and I, justifying spending certain amounts on items, but remembering it really is a special day and you want it to be everything you want. It’s a tricky balance to find, but I really recommend keeping this perspective. Advice for dress shopping- be open to trying on different styles. I went in with an idea of what style I thought I wanted and what suited my body shape, but I was SO far off! Advice for vendors - do you research, chat to vendors, you’ll find through conversations you will get a ‘feel’ for them and if they will suit you and your personality. We had a DJ, we really wanted a big party and people to spend the night dancing once the speeches were finished. Our DJ delivered this! Everyone was up on the dance floor.

BEST WEDDING SPEND "Our photographer. You really can’t compromise on the photos. They provide such memories and a professional really does the best job. Ayzia has made us look so good! I didn’t know we had it in us ;) We also decided quite late to add a few more people to our list, we decided spending the extra per head was worth it to really have everyone we wanted there. We are so glad we did this."
