Wedding Dress Shopping - Our Most Frequently Asked Questions.

The dress you choose for your wedding day, is one of the most personal elements of all your wedding planning! I honestly think a bride can really set the mood for an appointment. Stylists are always ready for their clients and very keen to find you "the one". Here are some of the most common questions Samantha and her team are asked from future SW Brides! Hopefully these FAQ's will help you feel positive when you come to meet with us!

  1. My budget is between X and X, do you stock designers within this budget? Most of our brides have a preferred spend of $3500 and under. Our dresses in store range from $1500 +.

If you are in search for a dress under $1500 always sign up for our newsletter so you receive notifications of our sample sales. Our dresses are in beautiful condition and often brides cannot believe how new they are and especially on sale to clear.

We get so disappointed when gorgeous girls come back to our store as a bridesmaid for their friend & they tell us that they had wished they could have bought from our store, but the dress they loved was too much. You need to let Samantha and her team know. A budget is a budget. We will not judge you on what you are going to spend in store. No Pretty Woman moments thank you. We love watching our #RealBrideBrigade grow.

  2. What designers do you stock? Our favourite International label is Pronovias. In our store you will find beautiful creations from all top tier collections. Pronovias Atelier, Pronovias Privee', Pronovias.

We also have Samantha's own ready to wear collections in store including limited editions of certain styles & fabrics.

  3. I'm short on time! Do you sell sample dresses or can you accommodate rush orders?  We sure do! We currently have an online sample sale on NOW! Rush orders on the Samantha Wynne collections are always available as long as our fabric levels are available.

  4. How many people can I bring with me? Currently with Covid-19, we are able to accomodate our bride and three guests only. Please do not assume you can arrive with an entire bridal party entourage. As much as we love and enjoy watching family & friends share these special memories, we also need to be mindful of government regulations.

  5. I'm planning on losing weight - can I still come and try dresses on now? Of course you can! For 25 years in January 2021, we will be celebrating our in-house alteration service. We have had the most wonderful experiences with our customers in store. Our brides who have come in prior to losing their weight, have always been thankful that my team are able to have their dresses fitting like a glove. Alterations are more often than not required. The alterations are overseen by Samantha & this ensures continuity.

  6. Will I be the only bride in the boutique? Yes you will! Our SW Brides love this part of their experience. They have the entire bridal room all to themselves and the attention of Sam and the alterations team. An exclusive, special experience indeed.

  7. What is your boutique and location like? We are located in the beautiful leafy suburb of Mt Hawthorn which boasts the most trendy little coffee shops and restaurants. The request for brides to book an appointment in advance is to ensure you can try on dresses without being disturbed and without prying eyes and passers-by. We have one of the most beautiful change rooms with mirrors available on every angle so that you can see every little detail of the wedding gowns you are trying on.

  8. What happens when my dress arrives? When your dress arrives we will contact you via phone or email and book your first dress try on. This is a lovely way to remind you of the silhouette you chose and to discuss your undergarments that are required and alterations required too.
More often than not, the veils our brides have chosen have also arrived, its the perfect opportunity for photos and to see your complete look for your big day!

  9. Do you have an in-house seamstress? Yes we have been designing & manufacturing right here in Mt Hawthorn for nearly 25 years. We are very proud we are a WA owned business and have managed to still operate locally and support jobs locally too.

  10. How many alterations appointments should I plan for? When do I need to schedule my alteration appointments? Are the alterations included in the dress price? Can we add sleeves, add embellishments, alter the neckline? Generally our brides have two alterations appointments. We recommend you schedule an appointment three weeks before your wedding date. The alterations are an extra service and costs are involved. This is always discussed with each bride and what changes they require.  We can add sleeves, organise beaded detail and embellishments and yes necklines changed are quite common.
The most common alterations are a hemline, a bustle and to letout/ reduce the waistline.
