We’ve all experienced different highs and lows over the last couple of years, so now more than ever taking care of yourself should be a top priority.

The past couple of years have been a roller coaster of ups and downs for everyone, and now more than ever, taking care of yourself should be a top priority.

In 2022 I set aside some time for myself to learn more about Yoga. I am so glad I began my journey...

We know that eating well and drinking plenty of water are essential, but what are some other ways to upgrade your wellness routine?

And how can you make wellness something that feels good, so it's more likely that you'll stick with it?

Here are some tips to help you feel and look your best this year.

  1. Practice mindfulness: Incorporating mindfulness into your daily routine can help reduce stress and improve overall well-being. You can practice mindfulness through meditation, yoga, or simply taking a few deep breaths throughout the day. Deep breathing exercises, or even through activities like walking or coloring.

  2. Get moving: Regular exercise is essential for physical and mental well-being. Find a type of exercise that you enjoy, whether it's yoga, running, cycling, or dancing, and make it a part of your routine.

  3. Sleep: This is my biggest challenge! Getting enough sleep is crucial for both physical and mental health. Aim for at least 7-9 hours of sleep each night, and create a sleep-friendly environment by keeping your bedroom dark, quiet, and cool.

  4. Connect with nature: Spending time in nature has been shown to improve mood, reduce stress, and increase overall well-being. Take a walk in the park, go for a hike, or simply sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Being around water calms me, even if it's just "watering plants".

  5. Practice self-care: Self-care is all about taking care of yourself, and it can look different for everyone. Some examples of self-care include taking a bath, reading a book, or treating yourself to a massage or indulging in your favorite hobby. Make time for self-care regularly and don’t hesitate to prioritize it when needed.

  6. Eat a balanced diet: Eating a balanced diet rich in whole foods and nutrients can help improve overall health and energy levels. Incorporate more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein into your diet and limit processed foods and sugary drinks.

  7. Surround yourself with positivity: Surrounding yourself with positive and supportive people can help improve your mood and overall well-being. Spend time with friends and family, and engage in activities that bring you joy and happiness. Connect with others: Social connection is important for our mental and emotional well-being. Volunteer in your community, or join a club or group that aligns with your interests.

  8. Find joy in movement: Incorporating movement into your day can help improve physical and mental well-being. Find activities that bring you joy, such as dancing, hiking, or playing with your children, and make them a part of your daily routine.

By incorporating mindfulness, exercise, sleep, time in nature, self-care, and positivity into your routine, you can feel and look your best this year. Remember, wellness should feel good, so make it enjoyable and something that you look forward to. Taking care of yourself should be a top priority, and there are many ways to upgrade your wellness routine and make it feel good. You can feel and look your best this year.
