Rebecca & Will's Brookleigh Estate Wedding

Celebrating every moment of my bride's journey, is something I truly cherish. When my brides say "Yes to the dress" it gives me a sense of nostalgia and belonging. I love the communication and being able to watch their reactions as they try on chosen gowns from our collections in store. I will always remember Rebecca's appointments, I loved watching her in store during her fittings. So much excitement and joy! A true beauty.....Enjoy Rebecca and Will's story.

THE DRESS "When i first got engaged, i was so excited to try on wedding dresses after spending my childhood watching 'say YES to the dress' with my mum. I knew i was after a really elegant, lace fitting dress. I went to a bridal store in Perth, and after trying on 4-5 dresses i realised their styles were not what i was after. I did some research online and found Samantha Wynne's bridal store that had these beautiful, elegant dresses. I was so excited before i even entered the store. I went with my mum and bridesmaids, i think i only tried on 3-4 gowns before we found my beautiful Pronovias Epico gown. It was everything i ever wanted. Samantha knew exactly what i was after and had picked it off what i was saying i was after in a dress. I knew there was no need to go home and think about it, it was the one..."

HOW DID YOU FIRST MEET? "I met my partner in high school, we were 17 when we first started dating. He was and to this day my best friend. We have been inseparable ever since. We had been dating 7 years when he proposed to me in Margaret River. We have lived together, studied together and got our first dog together, so of course the next step was to get married together.. haha."

THE PROPOSAL "Will, my now husband hehe.. decided to take me down to Margaret River after he had been away for three weeks from a uni placement to propose. We drove down through Boranup Forest and told me we should go for a bush walk and find our names on the trees we had put there several years back. We couldn't find the tree, but we decided to find a new one. Little did i know, he got down on one knee, and the rest was history! He had beautiful accommodation booked and a cheese board waiting for us! (who doesn't love cheese!)"

FAVOURITE MOMENT "Our wedding day was perfect! It rained but that didn't stop us. I think the highlight for us was having a dog Lucy there. We had organised Alana from First Class Pet Wedding Assistants to look after her for the day. Lucy who is a border collie is our baby, so to have her with us meant the world. Another top moment was our vows, he had me crying like a baby but i loved every moment of it- he even promised me a trip to Disneyland so thats a bonus!"

THE VENUE "We looked at a few venues, one request my husband had was that it had to have animals there (he is a huge animal lover). So when we rocked up at Brookleigh Estate in the Swan Valley, filled with horses in such a fairytale setup, it had us both in love. Also, for anyone that knows me I'm a huge sucker for a fairytale/ happily ever after, and Brookleigh just gave me all the good feels of a happily ever after."

FAVOURITE DETAILS "This is were i would love to make a huge shoutout for our blush florals from Rebecca at Edie and Ivy Flowers. Rebecca made my floral dreams come true! They matched my bridesmaids blush gowns perfectly and looked absolutely amazing! If anyone is after beautiful blooms, Rebecca is the one, she even added some beautiful flowers onto my cake for us! Another shoutout was our amazing wedding cake made by Lisa at Sieve & Stone. When i first found her page on Instagram, i was so excited as her cakes looked so magical. I still can't get over how stunning it looked. We also went for a very different flavour of Finger lime and coconut and it was delicious!!"

ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES "If you are an animal lover like us, and have a furry member in the family and want your pet to be with you on your special day- just do it! Our pet sitter was able to look after our baby who can be anxious at times, but was so calm on the day. So don't be stressed if your fur baby doesn't do to well with crowds, you can still have them there for the photos. I love looking back on my photos and having our Lucy there. When it comes to finding your dress, i enjoyed having my bridal party and mum with me, we would go out for lunch and make a day of it. Then for the dress fittings i just went with my mum and it was such a great bonding experience to spend with your mum. So make sure you take the people who you treasure the most."

BEST WEDDING SPEND "My dress obviously hehe. 100% worth every penny. It is your day so spend what you feel comfortable spending. I felt that putting on the dress and having that bridal moment was super special and i felt like a queen. Also our photographer, we had Hayley and Rory from Taylor and Co. They were so friendly and made us feel so comfortable around them. Plus they know how to party... WOOO. I would make sure you do your research with your photographer, as your photos are your forever memories. Make sure you look at their social media and get the good vibes from their posts. I have no regrets with our photographers they were incredible!"
