Renee & Tyrone's Yallingup Wedding

Today on the blog we are so fortunate to be sharing with you Renee & Tyrone's beautiful story. Like all my brides, Renee's dress meant the world to me. I designed a few modern dresses this year for brides who weren't looking for a traditional wedding dress and I must say, I loved this design on Renee. The fabric just twinkled when Renee wore it. 

At your first meeting with me Renee I was hopeful you would like the silhouette on this dress, it was a match made in heaven when you tried it on. I am so grateful that we crossed paths during your bridal journey. I think this dress was just waiting for you. I have lots of beautiful memories from your appointments.

THE DRESS "I was looking for something that was me! Something that was comfortable and but also something wow! Something simple, elegant and ME! At Samantha Wynne Bridal I tried on four dresses. It was the most perfect dress! It was exactly what I was looking for with that pop of wow! I loved the v line neck, the slim waist and absolutely loved the single leg split! The sparkle caught all our guests by surprise!"

CAN YOU REMEMBER THE MOMENT YOU KNEW IT WAS THE DRESS?  "Most definitely! I remember ‘liking’ the other dresses that I tried on, but I remember ‘Loving” this dress. It was just an instant heart sinking/face smiling/ crying “THIS IS IT!’. Both my mother and mother in law knew it was the one as well."

HOW DID YOU FIRST MEET? "We met each other through our fathers working together in underground mining in 1995 when I would have been 3 months old. Our families became close family friends and my partner, his sister and my sister spent many weekends together for BBQ’s, parties, and gatherings. Unfortunately, our families drifted apart as paths and careers went different ways. 16/17 years later we crossed paths in Bali! We were both on solo holidays trying to “find ourselves” in Bali and escape from heartbreaks back home in Perth …. And we found each other! That was three years ago."

THE PROPOSAL "He organised a trip back to Bali and took me back to the very first beach we spent the day at together when we first met in Bali (green bowl beach in uluwatu). We arrived in Bali and got settled into our villa – unlike my hubby he was very upset with the villa stating, “it looks nothing like the photos!’ normally he isn’t to picky with our villas as we only sleep in them and spent the days exploring!. He was very frustrated and annoyed by this villa (hmmmm suss). The next morning, we woke up, got ready and decided to head to ur favourite beach! (green bowl). This particular morning everything seemed to be going wrong for my hubby… not one taxi on the road and no one had a scooter to rent… again a very frustrated hubby (unusual for him). We finally managed to rent a scooter (probably to dodgiest scooter in the whole on Bali :/) and rode on off to the beach. Once getting to the beach, my hubby was super excited that the beach was empty! It was just us two! I stripped off (into my bathers) and headed straight for the water whilst my hubby set up his drone (this is a hobby of his, so it was not unusual for him to drone our locations). He called me over from the water and wanted a drone picture (again normal). We posed for a photo (I noticed he was very sweaty and clammy!) when I went to walk off back to the water, he grabbed my hand, dropped to his knee and pulled out the most stunning ring and asked me to marry him!. It was a magical moment at such a special location."

FAVOURITE MOMENT "My hubby and I snuck off with our photographer for 10 mins to get some sunset photos, spending this time with just him and having photos with the most beautiful sunset was absolutely amazing. I also loved reading my vows and looking into my hubby’s eyes, it was an incredibly special moment. We also made our vows funny, this was an ice breaker, helped ease some of the nerves! also walking down the isle and seeing my man, (crying) so special."

THE VENUE "I had this venue in mind from when I was a little girl – my family used to visit this spot on every family holiday. When I showed my hubby this spot, he loved it just as much as I did. We ended up with Caves house hotel, Yallingup."

FAVOURITE DETAILS "Our flowers were incredible!!! (signature floral designs) we were amazed with how great our flowers looked! Our colour palette was baby blue, white, and gold and it just went together perfect. We had a neon sign designed saying “Mr & Mrs Hardes’ as our main reception piece hanging above the bridal table. Our bridesmaid dresses look incredible! My bouquet was perfect! With little pops of red (Signature floral design) My shoes! Loved my shoe touch (witness) My hubby also wrote on the bottom of my shoe, I read it the morning of our wedding. So many favourite details!!"

ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES "I’m really glad we took 10 minutes to ourselves to really take in the day to sit in the moment together. For the ceremony we had a live acoustic guitarist who sang acoustic covers. We loved having this touch, our guests said they loved it as well! Incredibly happy with this decision. For our reception we had our MC just played whatever he thought was appropriate and what would get people dancing! (he nailed it)"

BEST WEDDING SPEND "Flowers, this paid off, our venue just looked incredible with the flowers. Food! Our menu was delicious. Dance lessons! We learnt a basic dance and we are so glad we did it! It was really enjoyable doing dance lessons with my hubby (he actually enjoyed it as well!) Wedding cars (Kuste Kombis) they looked amazing! Was an awesome little adventure for our wedding photos and was an awesome experience sitting in such cool vehicles!"
